Overall Role:

• Played leadership role in continued growth of organisation by designing and implementing financial policy for sustainability.
• Directed all finance and business administration of BTFEC to (i) ensure efficient and clean financial management structure (ii) optimise revenue generation while preserving endowment’s inflation-adjusted capital and (iii) manage minimum of US$ 1 million in annual spending.
• Provided essential inputs for financial planning, monitoring and evaluation to ensure all finances are grounded in sound business management to enhance cost effective of BTFEC’s philanthropic work.

Financial Management:

• Reviewed all financial grant requests and institutional operations and prepare work plans with grant seekers and grantees in government, civil society, and rural communities.
• Provided leadership for in-house capacity building through monitoring reports and policy papers, and arrange presentations at symposium and special seminars and meetings for staff, board and committees.
• Systematically monitored, analysed, and evaluated performance of all activities in accomplishing program and organisation objectives, and reporting these results to Board, donors, and general public.
• Prepared financial statements as per GAAP and BTFEC accounting policies, and facilitate regular auditing of projects and operational finances.
• Kept organisation informed on pertinent financial issues and regulatory matters, and provide financial inputs for program review and evaluation.
• Maintained contacts with professional peers, investment specialist, donors, and government agencies, and keep abreast of professional developments through regular specialised training and professional interactions.
• Endowment Management
• Assisted Board and its Asset Management Committee in their fiduciary mandate to ensure annual income from prudent investment management of its US$75 million endowment invested in local and global capital markets.
• Directly oversaw formulation and compliance with investment policy and guidelines, asset allocation and risk mitigation using quantitative models, selection and supervision of fund managers and other consultants.
• Maintained tax exemption in countries where endowment is invested, and facilitate biennial independent review of investment performance.
• Business Administration:
• Directly supervised all finance and administration personnel, support staff and relevant fiancé and investment consultants, and ensure BTFEC’s smooth functioning.
• Outlined job requirements and other expectations for personnel being supervised, annually evaluate performances in writing to recommend salary increases or disciplinary action.
• Coordinated hiring and training of new staff and termination of non-performers.
• Directed all payroll administration and procurement, physical asset management.
• Supervised year-end fixed asset schedule for inclusion in Comprehensive Annual Financial Report.

• Maintained good working relationship with Ministry of Finance in dealing with palace affairs.
• Managed entire accounting cycle including gathering information, preparing documents, finalising reports and closing books.
• Improved 100% efficiency of operations through establishment of financial management system.
