My research question was, "How does basketball influence the experiences and identity development of players in Thimphu?"

K Parties is a self-owned event-planning business. Between 2018 and now, I have decorated over a hundred parties and organized the game zone at the CSI Food Fair, 2022.

• Quickly learned new skills that I could apply to daily life such as, how to work with other people and listen to their interests, and ideas to put together a masterpiece in combination with my own creativity.
• Learned to work flexible hours as people hired me spontaneously most often.
• I mostly had tight deadlines for decorations so I learned to work successfully within a few hours.
• Learned to be friendly and patient with customers, handling challenging situations with calm.
• Identified certain decorative items as plausibly unsafe to children, analyzed the reasons why they could be unsafe and provided safer alternatives.
• Event planning is a team-building activity that has helped to enhance my working relationships with my own colleagues as well as the clients.
• Strengthened my planning skills to achieve the best results on a tight schedule.

In August, 2022, I went on a research tour with one of the most well-renowned Naga anthropologists, Dr. Dolly Kikon where she interviewed 5 farmers in 4 districts of the country.

• Translated the interviewer's questions from English to Dzongkha for the interviewee.
• Translated the interviewee's responses from Dzongkha to English for the interviewer.
• Applied cultural understanding to explain specific meanings for a better understanding of the interviewer.
• Helped Dr. Dolly commute around our locality better for her research to be smoother with every detail being translated to her in English.
• Had to update my knowledge of my national as well as the English language to effectively translate in accordance with changing contemporary trends in communication.
• Expanded my knowledge of my own cultural values that I did not know prior.
• Identified changes that were taking place in the country, and the implications of these changes on the people in various ways.

• Thoroughly researched newly identified terms used by farmers, expanding my skills and knowledge.
